Brushless DC motors
The electronically commutated DC motors are available with output power up to approx. 600 watts with external or integrated (commutation) electronics. They have the following advantages over the conventional DC motor:
- The service life is similar to the one-phase and three-phase motors.
- Brushless DC motors run quieter, no brush noise occurs.
- On request, they can be equipped with thermal protectors.
- The moment of inertia is smaller for the same nominal power. This makes brushless DC motors more dynamic.
The commutation electronics can be extended with additional functions such as soft start, torque limitation and speed control.
With built-in encoder, the brushless DC motors can be used in conjunction with a 4-Q controller as a servo drive.

Standard supply voltage is 24VDC, all motors are also available for special voltage applications.
With the motor types BL / EM5020B, 5040B and 5060B speeds up to 40 000 / min can be realized and can be manufactured with outer diameter 65mm with increased protection IP68.
Available control functions:
- Enable switches on / off the drive
- Direction of rotation for changing rotation between clockwise and anti-clockwise
- Brake for triggering a deceleration by short-circuiting the motor winding
All these control inputs work with the power supply connected. This eliminates the switching or polarity reversal of the power supply, as it is required for switching on / off or change of direction in the conventional DC motor.
BL series
Brushless DC motors for operation on external electronics
- Less length, space for control electronics eliminated.
- Adaptation to existing electronics at the user easily possible.
- Voltages from approx. 6V to approx. 500VDC.
- Mounting of speedometer, resolver, absolute or incremental encoders is easy. This means that BL motors can be used as a servo drive in conjunction with 4Q servo controllers.

Series EM
Brushless DC motors with integrated control electronics
- Motors of the EM series basically have an integrated control electronics.
- Adaptation to external electronics is eliminated.
- The wiring is much easier.
- Shielded wires aren't necessary in most cases.
- Conventional DC motors can in many cases be replaced directly.
